Are you looking for a new built home vs a resale home? If so, what does that mean for you? There are many options out there. Let's talk about some of the things to consider.
Frequently asked questions:
Q:Can you have your own real estate agent?
A:Yes. In fact it is encouraged so you have an advocate on your side instead of the builders agent only. They work for the builder, not you.
** Always take your Realtor with you on the first visit to a new build location. Once you have registered at the builder, most times they wil l not allow you to add your agent to the registration.
Q: Does it cost me more to be represented by my own agent?
A: No. In fact, your agent may be able to work with the builder to get you more than you would on your own. The builder will pay your agent's commission.
Q: Should I do my own home inspection?
A: Yes. The builder will do as much as they can to build the home and make corrections but they don't see everything nor are they looking for everything. An outside home inspector is working for you to catch any issues that may have been missed by the contractors and superintendant. I encourage all my new build clients to hire an outside inspector.
